Are you rethinking your ink?
Helendale Dermatology & Medical Spa now offers the newest laser tattoo removal technology, PicoWay. Unlike traditional lasers, the dual wavelengths device generates picosecond pulses (ultra-short pulses every trillionth of a second) to efficiently remove tattoos on all skin types with fewer treatment sessions. The PicoWay laser treats a broader range of skin types and a wide array of tattoo ink colors.
This treatment is for anyone seeking to remove the hard-to-treat colors such as red, yellow, and orange. The predominant tattoo color is black. However, most tattoos have more than a single color.
"PicoWay treatment boasts a higher rate of multicolored tattoo removal in fewer sessions, as well as more comfort to patients and less risk of side effects due to its shorter pulse duration," said Dr. Elizabeth Arthur, Board Certified Dermatologist at Helendale Dermatology & Medical Spa.
How Does PicoWay Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
A tattoo is the result of pigment being inserted into the dermal layer of skin. Laser tattoo removal works by targeting this pigment. Lasers produce a burst of light that is selectively absorbed by the tattoo pigment. This light energy causes the pigment to fracture into smaller particles that are then removed by your body by natural processes.
Tattoo removal requires multiple treatments to continue to break the pigment into smaller and smaller particles. Black pigment absorbs all laser wavelengths and is the easiest to treat. Other colors selectively absorb laser wavelengths and require more specific laser wavelengths.
"We are not surprised by the strong interest in PicoWay as it provides a powerful new option for tattoo removal and is a game-changing laser for tattoo removal," added Dr. Arthur.
